Illinois State Police say a new campaign that kicked off yesterday if focusing on commercial vehicle enforcement on I-57.

A federal grant is providing funds for more traffic stops and inspections of semis. The inspections include checking mechanical functioning on the vehicle, as well as to ensure the truck’s paperwork is in order and the driver isn’t fatigued.
