The newest official member of the Johnston City Police Department is a dog. Crush the K9 officer and his trainer, officer Josh Ehler, were officially appointed K9 officers last night.

They have put in more than 500 hours of training.

Crush is a 16 month old Belgian Malinois. He responds to commands in German. This is the first K9 unit for Johnston City in more than 30 years.
