Governor Bruce Rauner and his wife Diana will be downsizing when they move to the Director’s House at the Illinois State Fairgrounds in January.

Illinois Department of Agriculture specifications say the single-story, U-shaped Director’s House is 3,950 square feet with four bedrooms and two bathrooms. In contrast, the Executive Mansion is 45,120 square feet.

The move is being prompted by a privately funded $15 million restoration project at the historic mansion.
