A domestic dispute turned police chase turned manhunt turned standoff that shut down two schools and put another on lockdown in Massac County ended yesterday afternoon without further incident.

Authorities said when state police sent a robot into the Metropolis house where Justin Lamer was holed up, they found him passed out and found drugs in the house.

Lamer was taken to the hospital under police custody. He was previously wanted on drug charges and possession of a weapon by a felon. New formal charges had not been filed yet as of this morning.
