The Illinois Department of Corrections has agreed to settle a lawsuit that claims an inmate was humiliated by prison officials after his cell mate raped him.
That settlement coming with a four hundred fifty thousand dollar price tag.
According to the lawsuit, the man was imprisoned for eight months for a minor drug offense, at the Logan Correctional Center in Lincoln.
His cellmate was a gang member serving 22 years for armed robbery.
The inmate claims prison officials failed to give him proper medical attention, threatened him with more time if he did not withdraw his allegations and forced him to spend the rest of his sentence in segregation.
