JACKSONVILLE — The Goreville Blackcats are headed back to the state tournament after beating Jacksonville Routt Catholic 60-43 in the Jacksonville 1A Supersectional.

The Blackcats led 22-20 at the half, but broke it open in the second when senior Garrett Church caught fire from long range. Church tallied 7 three-pointers in the second half to finish with a game high 21 points. His four three-pointers in the third helped Goreville extend the lead to 39-25 after three. Church then buried three more from distance in the fourth to bury the Rockets.

Goreville improves to 33-4. The Blackcats will face Lawrenceville Thursday at 10:00 at the State Farm Center in Champaign. Goreville defeated Lawrenceville 50-45 a little more than a month ago at the Rich Herrin Classic in Benton.
