Goreville Blackcats head coach Todd Tripp led the Blackcats to a 40-39 win Monday evening over Waltonville in the 44th Sesser-Valier Holiday Tournament Championship game. That win not only was a big neutral court win for the Blackcats but also marked Tripp’s 500th career victory.
The Blackcats won on three made free throws by Nick King with the clock showing 0:00 due to a shooting foul called on a last second heave. Goreville is now 10-1 on the season.
Tripp improves to 500-236 on his career. He has a 473-189 record at Goreville since taking over in 2004.
