A Royalton man will spend the next five years in state prison, the consequence of violating the probation he received after a theft conviction.

According to a press release from the Williamson County State’s Attorney’s Office, 28-year-old James Burnett was arrested in connection to an April 2015 robbery in which Burnett stole approximately $3,000 from a Cambria home. He was subsequently sentenced to five years’ probation.

Burnett violated that probation by failing to appear and pay fines. A warrant was then issued for his arrest.
