36-year-old Nathan Bowles, of Carbondale, has been sentenced to eight years behind pars for aggravated battery.

According to the Jackson County State’s Attorney’s Office Bowles was involved in a stabbing back in August of 2017 on East Sycamore Street.

During a jury trial Bowles claimed self defense.
