More than 100 people gathered in Carbondale last night for a candle light vigil in response to the violence in Charlottesville, Virginia. Carbondale Mayor Mike Henry spoke at the gathering.

Prompted by the weekend events in Charlottesville, the Illinois Senate yesterday adopted a resolution urging law enforcement to treat white national and neo Nazi groups as terrorist organizations.

Senate Don Harmon told his fellow senators we must fight against the groups’ “twisted ideologies.”
