Prosecutors say the suspect in the kidnapping of a University of Illinois scholar from China marched in a vigil for the victim a day before his arrest and also talked about how she resisted. A statement from the U.S. attorney’s office in Springfield says prosecutors made the allegations at a detention hearing for Brendt Christensen on Wednesday in Urbana. A judge ordered the 28-year-old Christensen to remain jailed, saying he poses a danger to the community.
