Carbondale Police are investigating two reports of shots fired.

The first incident happened about 10 last night when the sound of gunfire was reported just east of the Carbondale Police Department – in the 400 to 500 block of East Mill Street.

Authorities say they did not find any victims of that shooting.

During the course of the investigation, they arrested 21 year old Curtis Westmoreland of Chicago on an active warrant. He was also charged with resisting a police officer.

And about 2 this morning, a Carbondale Police officer reported hearing multiple gun shots on the northeast side of town, and then the police department received a call about the same shots.

Officers responded to the 500 block of East Larch Street, where they found several spent shell casings.

No victims have been located.
