Effective July 1, the museum at SIU will close to the public.

SIU officials calling it a temporary shutdown due to the lack of funding from the state.

According to Interim Chancellor Brad Colwell, the museum’s collections will be maintained and the school does plan to reopen when a state budget is passed that provides enough support to hire the necessary staff.
