A 22 year old shooting suspect was taken to the hospital after his arrest.
Marion Police say 22 year old Joshua Hamad fired shots at officers who were investigating a suspicious vehicle in the 200 block of East Warder Street late Wednesday night.
Officers returned fire.
Police say Hamad ran from the vehicle and was arrested after a short chase. He had been shot twice in the leg and was taken to Heartland Regional Medical Center.
Police say there was a second person in the vehicle – a 17 year old. That person was released with no charges.
Marion Police and the Illinois State Police are still investigating this incident.
