After a wet ending to the summer, National Weather Service meteorologists are starting to use the word drought when talking about our area. We have had very little measurable rainfall for the past six weeks.

Local fire officials are warning that the dry conditions raise the likelihood of brush fires and urge that residents follow all ordinances and take safety precautions when burning leaves and brush.
