The manhunt for a burglary suspect in Union County has now closed Shawnee schools.
Police say 26 year old Dejun Booker escaped after burglarizing Revlon Tavern near Ware, Illinois with four other men on Sunday.
Booker, described as a black male standing just over 6 feet tall, weighing 240 pounds, and with shoulder length dreadlocked hair, is reportedly armed with a handgun and is considered armed and dangerous.
Nearby Shawnee schools have closed for the day and the district is advising all employees to stay at home as well until further notice.
The closure also means all practices are cancelled.
Citizens are warned not to approach Booker if they see him. They are instead instructed to call the Union County Sherrif’s Department at 618-833-5500
