The backlog of pardon and clemency requests made to the Governor is slowly going down.

Governor Bruce Rauner granted 8 pardons Friday and denied 118 petitions for clemency.

This is the eleventh time the governor has acted on pardon and clemency requests since taking office.

Some of the petitions on the governor’s desk date back to 2010.
