The owner of a bar in Dowell is behind bars for allegedly shooting at a patron he was chasing from the bar.

VanZandt’s Tavern owner Van Ray VanZandt was charged with reckless discharge of a firearm.

A patron called the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department just before 2 am to report that he was chased from the establishment and was being shot at.

VanZandt is incarcerated in the Jackson County Jail.
