Herrin, Ill. – Three people are in custody and another is on the loose after a police chase.

Energy Police say an officer tried stopping a white van for missing a stop sign around 12:43 a.m. Wednesday on 13th street in Herrin. Police say the van ignored the officer and kept driving, making several sharp turns and missing more stop signs.

Police say three occupants of the vehicle were caught when the driver hit a parked car. 25-year-old Lance Baldwin and 19-year-old John Henry Smith were arrested inside the vehicle while 19-year-old Demitri Johnson was arrested after fleeing the scene.

The name of the fourth suspect is not being released because he is a juvenile.
