Carbondale, Ill. – Southern Illinois University Carbondale has received the Governor’s Award for Excellence in Veteran Education in Illinois.

The award was given to SIU officials Thursday by the Illinois Department of Veterans Affairs for work during the spring semester.

The university also received the inaugural award in 2010.
