Herrin, Ill. – A man is accused of leading police officers on a high-speed chase and ramming two squad cars.

28-year-old Victor Shea of Herrin faces charges of aggravated fleeing and eluding, aggravated assault of a peace officer, criminal damage to government property and possession of a controlled substance.

Energy Police say they tried stopping Shea around 11:30 Wednesday night, but he fled and led Energy and Herrin Police on a chase down Bandyville Road. Shea is accused of then ramming two Energy Police cars before fleeing on foot.

He was subdued by a taser.

A passenger was released after giving a statement to police. Shea is in Williamson County Jail pending a court appearance.
