CARBONDALE, Ill. (WJPF) – The new Welcome Center at SIU is having an open house tomorrow, May 2nd.

The new Tedrick Welcome Center sits at the university’s main entrance off U.S. 51. It will house the SIU Foundation and will serve as a welcome mat for visitors, hosting tours, events and more.

The SIU Foundation paid for the project through reserves, fundraising and borrowing, including a $6 million leadership contribution from alumni Roger and Sally Tedrick.

The public open house is from 10am-2pm.
