An 18 year-old Herrin woman whom family and police were searching for elast week is said to be safe in Chicago.

Delia Ann Stacey was reported missing on December 28 and the public was asked for help in her search by the Herrin Police Department.

Stacey’s family reported her missing to the police department after they received a text message from her reading “Help”.

The police department states that Stacey was located around 11:15 a.m. on Monday. Stacey reported to her mother by phone saying that she was okay. Stacey has been contacted by Herrin Police and it’s been stated that she told police that she is fine and not in need of assistance.

A Chicago police officer was dispatched to contact Stacey in person and confirmed her identity.
