WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Ill. (WJPF) – Police are investigating after a body and vehicle was recovered from Crab Orchard Lake.

On August 1 around 2:45pm, the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office responded to the area of the boat ramp at Crab Orchard Lake near Foreville Road after a report of a submerged vehicle in the water.

Members of the responding dive and rescue teams recovered the vehicle and its occupant from the lake. Emergency medical personnel determined the individual was deceased at the scene.

This is an active and ongoing investigation. No additional information has been released at this time.
