
CARRIER MILLS, Ill. (WJPF) – A Carrier Mills man is facing felony charges after striking the Chief of Police.
CMPD Chief Isaacs responded to a domestic dispute July 17 on Wiley Street, between two brothers, Michael and Anthony Yates. Michael stated that Anthony was attempting to beat him with a metal bar during the confrontation.
Anthony attempted to flee when Chief Isaacs arrived, ignored lawful commands and struck Isaacs in the face with a piece of metal when he made entry. Isaacs was able to gain control of Anthony and place him under arrest.
He is facing charges for Aggravated Battery to a Police Officer, Assault, Resisting/Obstructing a Peace Officer and Disorderly Conduct. He was taken to the Saline County Jail.
Isaacs received medical treatment at a facility in Carrier Mills.
