HARRISBURG — The all-time leading scorer, boys or girls, at Harrisburg High School will be staying close to home to play in college, just a bit further west than originally thought.

Jamisen Green, who originally committed to John A. Logan, has signed with SIU.

The 5-foot-9 guard scored 2225 career points. In her senior season, Green earned Illinois Basketball Coaches Association All-State Second Team honors while helping the Lady Bulldogs to a 23-8 record and the SIRR Ohio conference title.

“Any time you have the opportunity to keep a local player home, it’s special,” says SIU women’s basketball head coach Kelly Bond-White. “Jamisen has had an outstanding high school career and has represented her community the right way. What stood out to us is her willingness to embrace a challenge. She loves Southern Illinois, she wanted to be a Saluki, and she’s eager to continue developing her game at the Division I level. Her work ethic, humility, and competitive spirit make her a great fit for our program and culture.”

Green plans to study Exercise Science within the School of Human & Health Sciences while pursuing a career in Physical Therapy at Southern Illinois University.
