DU QUOIN — The Herrin Tigers pulled off a major upset by knocking off the top-seeded and host Indians to reach the Du Quoin 2A Baseball Regional final. The Pinckneyville Panthers made sure there would not be a second upset, and in the process, picked up their second straight regional title.

The Panthers overcame an early 2-0 deficit to win 5-3. Abel Clark gave Pinckneyville six strong innings of relief, allowing just one run, and senior Michael Brand led the offensive charge with a pair of hits including a home run.

The Panthers advance to the Benton Sectional, where they will face Harrisburg Wednesday at 2:00.
