CARBONDALE, Ill. (WJPF) — Three people were shot Sunday at a party in Carbondale.

It happened at about 2:45 a.m. at a vacant residence in the 300 block of West Cherry Street.

According to a press release, responding Carbondale Police Officers found three victims with gunshot wounds. One victim’s injuries were considered to be serious and life-threatening. Officers called for an ambulance, but were told it’s arrival would be delayed due to other emergency calls. The seriously injured victim was then loaded into a pickup truck parked at the scene. Police and the pickup’s owner took the victim to Carbondale Memorial hospital.

The two less seriously injured victims were treated and released from local hospitals.
