NAPERVILLE, Ill. (AP) — A suburban Chicago man and woman face felony cruelty to animals charges for allegedly starving two of their dogs to death and dumping one of the bodies in a drainage ditch and the other in a field.

DuPage County State’s Attorney Robert Berlin’s office said in a news release that 19-year-old Sarah Gorski and 27-year-old Andre Norris of Hoffman Estates have also been charged with misdemeanor counts of the unlawful disposal of an animal. Examinations of the dogs revealed that both had been starved and that one of the dogs had been poisoned.

The two are scheduled to return to court in DuPage County on June 1.
