(WJPF) — Five new cases of COVID-19 have been reported in three southern Illinois Counties.

On Wednesday, public health officials announced the first case in Massac County. A woman in her 60s is believed to have been exposed to the virus through recent travel.

A second case has been reported in Williamson County. A woman in her 50s is believed to have been exposed to the virus through community spread.

Three new cases were reported in Jackson County. A man in his 60s and a woman in her 20s are believed to have been exposed to the virus through recent travel. A woman in her 90s is believed to have been exposed through community spread.
