EAST ST. LOUIS, Ill. (WJPF) — An East St. Louis Police Officer has pleaded guilty in federal court to fraud charges.

48-year-old Mario Fennoy was charged with submitting false claims for overtime pay.

According to prosecutors, while Fennoy claimed to be working more than 200 overtime hours, he was instead spending time at a second home in East St. Louis. Fennoy was also accused of falsely clearing calls and reporting that he had responded to dispatches when he had never left the East St. Louis home.

Sentencing is set for February. Fennoy could get up to 10 years in prison. Restitution is necessary.
