Two Mississippi men are dead after the tractor-trailer they were travelling in ran off Interstate 64 and into the Little Wabash River.

According to state police, the accident happened just after 6:00 a.m. Saturday.

A preliminary investigation indicates that the driver was heading west on 64 in White County when, for unknown reasons, the driver lost control of the truck.

Police say the truck drove through the median before driving into the water where it submerged.

Both the driver and passenger were pronounced dead at the scene.
