No one was injured when a tow boat sank into the Mississippi near Cairo Sunday.

According to the US Coast Guard, around midnight they were notified that the towing vessel Eric Hanley was sinking.

Nine people as well as nearly 80,000 gallons of fuel and 1,600 gallons of oil were onboard.

Those nine people were able to make it off the boat before it sank.

A small amount of fuel did spill into the river but it has been contained.

The incident remains under investigation.
