US Senators Dick Durbin and Tammy Duckworth have announced that  $82,000 in federal funding is headed to Illinois.

Nearly $36,000 is designated for southern Illinois.

According to a joint press release, the city of Hurst in Williamson County will receive a $21,100 grant to be used to purchase two used police vehicles and other equipment.

In Massac County, the town of Joppa will receive nearly $15,000 to go towards the purchase to a tractor and front end loader.

The cities of Mt Sterling and Lanark in Northern Illinois are the recipients of the rest of the federal money.
