The race for Williamson County circuit clerk heated up a little more with another candidate kicking off their campaign.

Businessman Ted Pentecost announced to Republican leaders at their regular meeting Thursday that he’ll run for the job.

Pentecost will face competition for the job from Democratic appointee Angie Elliott Kochan, and top clerk administrator Jennifer Pritchett, who have also announced their intention to run for the job.

The clerk’s job came open earlier this year when long-time Clerk Stuart Hall announced his retirement, which came about almost two years after an embezzlement scandal hit the office involving three employees.
