Springfield, Ill. – Republican Lloyd Karmeier will have to wait until all the votes are counted to see if he retains his seat on the state supreme court.

Currently, he has 60.4 percent in favor of retention, enough to pass the 60 percent threshold.

On to statewide offices, we’re still not sure who will be our next treasurer. Roughly 0.4 percent separates Republican Tom Cross and Democrat Michael Frerichs. Cross has the lead with 99 percent of precincts reporting.

Incumbents won three other statewide races – Judy Baar Topinka for Comptroller, Lisa Madigan for Attorney General and Jesse White for Secretary of State.
