After a decade of trying to get a new school in Creal Springs funding was finally approved last night at the Marion Community School District meeting. A measure was passed unanimously during the meeting for the issuance of $12 million worth of bonds to pay for a new 60,000 square foot facility to be placed on land that has already been purchased. The bonds will be paid over a 12 year period and by mostly sales tax revenue until earlier bonds from the district are paid off. The current almost 100 year old building will be replaced with a new one designed to hold 400 students ranging from pre-K to eighth grade. No time table has been set yet on construction.
