A fire early Thursday morning has left a family in Zeiglar homeless. A call was received from someone at the home at 705 Baggott St. at 7:24 Thursday. When the initial fire crews arrived flames were seen exiting the roof. Firefighters initially attempted to fight the fire from the inside but had to pull back when the structure was no longer safe. The house was a complete loss and the American Red Cross has been called in to assist the family. Zeigler Fire department was aided on the call by the Royalton and West Frankfort Fire Departments. No one was hurt at the fire.
