A man from Murphysboro faces charges in the armed robbery of an SIU Credit Union branch in Carbondale.
Police accuse 33-year-old David White of robbing the bank on West Main Street Monday afternoon. He is in Jackson County Jail and will have a preliminary hearing on the charge of Financial Institution Robbery February 18.
White also faces felony forgery and two misdemeanor domestic battery charges from separate incidents in January. He will appear in court February 18th and 26th for those charges, respectively.
Carbondale City Manager Kevin Baity told us on Tuesday that the suspect was arrested after reports of an abandon car on the west side of town helped police track him down.
