State Treasurer and Gubernatorial Candidate Dan Rutherford faces accusations of sexual harassment from a former employee.
According to NBC Chicago (http://bit.ly/MuSZoc), the male employee says he and several other men in the administration have felt Rutherford’s unwanted sexual advances or inappropriate sexual comments. The unnamed employee also says he objected to turning the Treasurer’s office into a campaign arm for Rutherford’s gubernatorial run.
Rutherford said last week that complaints lodged by the employee in his resignation letter, without addressing them specifically, are politically motivated. He also claimed Bruce Rauner is behind the attacks, a claim Rauner denies.
Rutherford still plans to start airing campaign commercials in the area starting as early as this week.
