Carbondale police are looking for a suspect on attempted murder charges after a shooting outside the Carbondale Community High School Rebound facility.
18-year-old Omari A. Tinsley of Carbondale is wanted on attempted murder, aggravated battery with a firearm and aggravated discharge of a firearm. One 17-year-old male juvenile is already in custody.
Police say the shots were fired during an altercation between two people at the school, located on 205 North Oakland Avenue. The altercation happened during the school’s lunch period, where students are allowed to eat off-campus.
The father of a student at the school was taken to Memorial Hospital in Carbondale for treatment of a possibly life-threatening injury.
Tinsley is described as a black male, 5-feet-9 inches tall and weighs about 190 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black shirt and white camouflage pants.
Tinsley is considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information should call Carbondale Police at 457-3200.
