Hardiman Challenge Will Wait

Illinois elections officials are expected to decide next week whether a Chicago man can remain on the ballot to challenge Gov. Pat Quinn in the Democratic primary.

The Board of Elections is postponing its decision about the candidacy of Tio Hardiman and his running mate.

The issue is whether lieutenant governor candidate Brunell Donald used her correct address on petitions.

The Chicago woman says she'd recently moved, but didn't change the address on her voter registration.

It's the first year gubernatorial candidates have had to select a running mate before the primary. That means there's no case law on how Hardiman's candidacy could be affected if Donald is disqualified.

Hardiman, meanwhile, says Thursday he's "ready to tackle all of the issues."
