Overturned Tractor Trailer Stalls I-64 And I-57



A MAN FROM TENNESSEE IS IN THE HOSPITAL AFTER HIS FREIGHTLINER TRUCK TRACTOR OVERTURNED NEAR THE INTERSECTION OF I-64 AND I-57.

POLICE SAY 23-YEAR-OLD MYRUS SMITH MISSED HIS TURN ONTO I-57 SOUTH AROUND 6 P.M. YESTERDAY WHEN HE ABRUPTELY TURNED TO MAKE THE I-57 NORTH RAMP OFF I-64 WHEN HIS TRACTOR-TRAILER OVERTURNED.

THE RAMP WAS CLOSED FOR SEVERAL HOURS. SMITH WAS TREATED FOR INJURIES AT THE GOOD SAMARITAN HOSPITAL IN MT VERNON.

SMITH WAS CITED FOR IMPROPER LANE USAGE AND FAILURE TO REDUCE SPEED.
