Crowds Protest Efforts To Find Woman



FAMILY AND FRIENDS OF A MISSING WOMAN FROM SHAWNEETOWN PROTESTED OUTSIDE OF THEIR POLICE DEPARTMENT WEDNESDAY BECAUSE THEY SAY THE POLICE AREN’T DOING ENOUGH.

THE CROWD IS PROTESTING THE EFFORTS OF POLICE TO FIND 39-YEAR-OLD CHRISSY WILLIAMS, WHO WENT MISSING A MONTH AGO. REPORTS SAY MEMBERS OF THE CROWD ACKNOWLEDGED THAT WILLIAMS WENT TO THE POLICE REGARDING AN EX-BOYFRIEND SHE THOUGHT WAS DANGEROUS AND FILED AN ORDER OF PROTECTION AGAINST IN THE PAST.

REPORTS SAY THE POLICE TOLD WILLIAMS THEY WOULD NOT DO ANYTHING UNLESS SHE WAS DEAD.

VOLUNTEERS SAY THEY PLAN TO SEARCH FOR WILLIAMS AGAIN OVER THE WEEKEND.
