Fracking Question to be on Johnson County Ballot

Johnson County voters will get a chance to tell county officials how they feel about high-volume oil and gas drilling.

Residents submitted a petition yesterday to the county clerk with twice the number of signatures required to put the ISSUE on the March ballot.

The advisory question asks whether Johnson County should assert "the people's right to local self-government" and ban hydraulic fracturing. State law currently doesn't permit local control of the practice.
