Carbondale Officials To Discuss Property Tax Raise
In Carbondale, city officials will discuss a 10.5-percent property tax hike at Tuesday night's meeting.
The proposal would raise taxes roughly $8 for every $100,000 of property value.
The discussion will be held after the liquor board meeting, which starts at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
No vote on the proposal will be held, though. State law requires the city to wait at least 20 days to vote after a truth in taxation hearing, so city officials will likely take up the issue at their meeting on Dec. 17.
