A man from Carbondale faces murder charges again and is awaiting extradition in Florida.
Elijah Lacy, 28, was arrested yesterday after his original charge for first degree murder in 2010 went through every level of the state court system. He was originally charged for the 2007 murder of Falon Taylor, but the charge was tossed out because the judge said his right to a speedy trial was violated.
After the state Supreme Court overturned the decision regarding a speedy trial in July 2013 and sent the issue back to Jackson County Court, a judge ordered an arrest warrant for Lacy on Nov. 1.
He was arrested in Orange County, Calif. Tuesday afternoon.
