Donations Pour In For American Heart Association

The American Heart Association raised over $200,000 last weekend during the Southern Illinois Heart Walk.

Officials say 1,800 people showed up for the walk on Saturday despite the raining conditions. They actually had to cancel the closing ceremonies because of the weather.

Altogether, they raised $218,219 for research on heart disease.

The American Heart Association says heart disease is the No. 1 cause of death in America.
