Officials: Plenty of Time to Sign Up for Healthcare
The biggest bump in the road for the first few days of the nation’s health care sign-up has been a Web site slow to respond, officials say.
But Karen Sullivan of Get Covered Illinois says there’s no reason to panic if you can’t get on the Web site right away.
“There’s no rush to sign up. Your insurance can’t possibly kick-in on the marketplace until Jan. 1. So use October, use November, to kind of keep going back to this Web site, look at it, study it, get your questions assembled, and then call the call center or go to one of these community partners and let them help you.”
If you make your decision and buy your health plan by Dec. 15, it will kick in on January 1.
