The SIU Board of Trustees is moving forward with a plan to find a new President to replace Glenn Poshard, who is retiring next year.
Under the plan, SIU will hire an outside firm to conduct a nationwide search that Board Chairman Randal Thomas says will take seven-to-eight months.
The Trustees also approved this year’s fiscal budget and a 2-percent pay hike for all employees. Part of the budget includes a decrease in research funding from $41 million to $27.5 million.
The Board also approved a tentative budget for the Fiscal Year 2015, which will be submitted to the State Board of Education and the General Assembly for negotiations.
